What's new: A Podcast and a Book Signing



Nicole Bennett , a digital news producer with Cox Media Group in Atlanta is the brains behind a new podcast called "Beyond Criminal Headlines." Every two weeks Nicole interviews journalists from across the industry who’ve covered some of the most notorious crimes in American history. Nicole has roots in Oakland County; her grandmother lives in Rochester Hills and gave her a copy of "The Snow Killings" as a gift.

Recently, Nicole and I spent a couple hours talking about the OCCK case for her podcast. Her latest episode on "The Snow Killings: Inside the Investigation into the Oakland County Child Killer" is now available. Also, on Tuesday April 5, 2022, I will give a presentation on the book, followed by a Q & A and book signing at the Livonia Civic Center Library. Copies of The Snow Killings will be available for purchase and signing. Registration is not required.

A good sign: live events with book signings


Publishing in the middle of a pandemic presented many obstacles including the ability to promote "The Snow Killings." Thanks to area public libraries, I've been able to spread the word via virtual presentations. This week includes two in-person events complete with book signings. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

Tuesday, January 18, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Detroit Public Library.

This is a virtual event and it will also be streamed/recorded on the Detroit Public Library's youtube.com channel.

Following the presentation, Cory Williams, who was the lead detective on the OCCK case for over 13 years, will be joining me in a Q and A discussion. Williams retired in 2019 after 36 years in law enforcement, the last ten years he served as a criminal investigator for the Wayne County Prosecutors' office. He continues to serve as a consultant on the OCCK case.

Adira James has written a first-person account of her parents' trafficking her as very young child in the insanely lucrative child prostitution and pornography rings active in the Detroit suburbs in the seventies and eighties. Hers was not a childhood; it was torture and slavery and brainwashing at the hands of evil incarnate.
